2023 MICHELLE CAREW CLASSIC TOURNAMENT RULES

  • GAME TIME LIMIT: 1 Hour 45 minutes (no new)
  • DUGOUTS: First team listed (or top of bracket) has 1 st base dugout
  • HOME TEAM: Coin flip at pregame conference
  • GAME TIEBREAKER RULE: If tied at time limit or after 7 innings, next inning runner at 2nd , then runner at 3rd thereafter.
  • MERCY RULE: 10 Run rule after 4 innings, 8 run after 5
  • HELMETS: Coaches must wear helmets at 1st and 3rd
  • PREGAME DRILLS: ANY type of pregame hitting is permitted
  • EJECTION BY UMPIRE: By CIF rule, any player or coach barred from immediate subsequent game
  • DESIGNATED PLAYERS: Courtesy runners for P & C
  • SCORE REPORTS: Both teams return score report (in packet) to Field Desk
  • PROTESTS: NO PROTESTS ARE ALLOWED. However, in a gold bracket semi or final game, an issue may be presented to tourney director. An impartial coach/umpire panel MAY be formed to resolve issue if necessary.
  • ALL TOURNEY TEAM: Selections will be accepted according to qualified teams (on reverse of this form). PLEASE notify Director immediately after your final game. A “wild card” spotsmay be nominated from any team.
  • POOL PLAY ADVANCEMENT: If 3 teams tied at 1-1, all will advance to Gold/Silver/Bronze by run differential of their 3 games. An 0-2 team is designated “wild card” for assignment to bronze or consolation by same.
  • WILD CARD ASSIGNMENTS: Run Differential Ranking for consolation placement of the six teams will be applied.
